At Main Street Veterinary Clinic, we know that unexpected illnesses and injuries can pose great risks to your pets. This is why we reserve time for these types of appointments. We have several sick holds that are not filled until the day of.

Call Us First

If you need unexpected veterinary care during our business hours, you can call to see if we can accommodate you and your pet. Please be as detailed as possible with your phone call so we can start the diagnostic process as soon as you enter the clinic. We also want to be sure we have the right resources in-house to give your pet the medical care they need. Certain cases might require a specialty emergency hospital, but we will do our best to cater to whatever cases we can.

Sick and injured pet appointments start with a physical exam followed by diagnostics. We always offer comprehensive medical care for every animal we see, and we will do everything we can to achieve a happy outcome.

Conditions of Concern

There are a wide range of symptoms our pets exhibit that indicate they may need to be seen by a veterinarian for sick or injured pet appointment. If you are concerned about your pet’s symptoms, or they just seem a bit off to you, we recommend that you call us during business hours for a recommendation.

Some symptoms to keep an eye out for include, but are not limited to:

  • Lethargy
  • Depression
  • Decreased appetite
  • Red, inflamed, or itchy ears
  • Pain
  • Limping
  • Inability to urinate
  • Inability to defecate

Emergency and Specialty Referrals

If our veterinarians determine that your pet's condition would be better treated at a specialty or emergency hospital we will refer you to one. If your pet is experiencing a health emergency outside of our practice hours we recommend you contact one of the following 24-hr emergency hospitals:
