Allergy Care

A dog scratching an itch

If you’ve ever suffered from seasonal allergies, you know just how uncomfortable they can be. Our pets are often just as susceptible to allergies as we are. In fact, seasonal allergies can be an extra nuisance for our canine friends from March all the way until November, but some animals can suffer all year long.

Unlike itchy eyes and runny noses that humans experience, allergies in dogs typically present as skin issues. Dogs with allergies will often scratch much more than normal. Some dogs might experience respiratory issues or discharge from the eyes or nose.

If you suspect that your dog is suffering from seasonal allergies, request an appointment so we can take a closer look. We have a few different treatment options available that can provide relief from this discomfort.

Dermatology Care

Your pet’s skin gives us the first indication of overall health. Often, certain illnesses will create symptoms that affect the skin and coat. You know your pet better than anyone and can often spot when something seems unusual with the skin or coat.

If you notice any of the following, it might be time for a dermatology appointment:

  • Itchy ears
  • Chewing at feet
  • Generalized itchiness
  • A strange odor coming from the skin or paws

Our expert team will perform a complete physical examination to find the cause of the problem and determine the best course of treatment. We also perform in-house cytology for ears, and skin when appropriate, to look for any bacterial, fungal, or parasitic organisms that might be present. This makes it easy for us to diagnose issues as quickly and efficiently as possible.

We want your pets to have healthy, comfortable skin and paws. Call us or request an appointment online to take the next step toward better skin for your furry friends.
